Disinfection of COVID-19 Contaminated Sites

Matrix Announces the Implementation of an Effective Disinfection Protocol for Common Interior & Exterior Environments – Updated March 2020.

Florham Park, NJ – Matrix New World Engineering (Matrix) today announced that with the unprecedented spread and causative effects associated with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, an effective measure of environmental mitigation is necessary prior to reoccupation of both public and work spaces. In response, Matrix has developed a standardized protocol for disinfecting surface area contaminants utilizing accepted industry practices and the most up to date guidance provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). .

Developed and implemented by a team of Matrix professionals that includes a PhD in Microbiology, ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH), Certified Safety Professionals (CSP), Certified Hazardous Material Managers (CHMM), Certified Microbial Investigators (CMI) and full staff of experienced HAZWOPER trained OSHA first responders; the Matrix Protocol includes a comprehensively tailored approach to cleaning and disinfection that accounts for:

Development of a “site-specific” Disinfection Work Plan (DWP) which establishes an area of concern and considers operational classification and known or assumed exposure to COVID-19 infected occupants;.

Implementation of the DWP utilizing trained and properly protected Industrial Hygiene (IH) professionals providing surface area cleaning and disinfection by applying EPA-registered and qualified products for use against COVID-19, but will not directly take away from the hospitals and facilities that need them;

On-site compliance monitoring to ensure conformance with the approved DWP, with post mitigation verification surface area testing utilizing “real time” ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) technology to expedite reoccupancy;

Post mitigation written documentation evaluated and approved by the Matrix ABIH CIH and team professionals that can be used to convey both the qualitative and quantitative effectiveness of the disinfection efforts (i.e. a clean and sanitized interior and exterior operating environment).
