Matrix Expands Marine Services in the
Gulf Region with Key Staff Addition

Sarah K. Roy joins Matrix as Manager of Gulf Marine Services.

Baton Rouge, LA - Matrix New World Engineering (Matrix) announced that
Sarah K. Roy has joined Matrix as Manager of Gulf Marine Services as the firm expands its environmental services in the coastal region.

Roy joins Matrix with decades of experience in environmental and coastal resource management, most recently in the areas of oil and gas exploration, production and pipelines. She has provided project management for the world’s largest oil and gas companies, helping them assess and seek approvals for the environmental impact of pipeline and drilling projects and to meet regulatory requirements throughout the Gulf region.

With oysters among Louisiana’s largest, most valuable and vulnerable industries, much of Roy’s work involves conducting scientifically sound oyster crop analyses for a variety of clients, assisting them with project planning, impact minimization, mitigation, and to advise and prepare them for potential litigation.

“My goal with Matrix is to provide solid, scientific data to assist our clients with their marine or aquatic permitting needs. It is vital for our clients to understand what impact their work may or may not have, then offer solutions to minimize or mitigate any unavoidable or accidental damages that may occur,” Roy said.

“I hope to bridge that gap between our clients and oystermen, landowners and regulators,” she added. “I anticipate making great strides toward building solid working relationships and preserving the ecological and commercial resources that are so critical to the region’s economy and culture.”

In the Gulf region, Matrix primarily concentrates on environmental, coastal and ecological restoration, and spill response. Roy’s addition to the Matrix team brings a new layer of expertise and broadens the firm’s array of services to the region.

Formed in 1990, Matrix is a prominent woman-owned full-service engineering and environmental services firm. Matrix is working on a wide range of infrastructure, building and environmental projects for public and private-sector clients throughout the United States. The Florham Park, NJ-based company has offices in Eatontown, NJ, as well as New York City, Louisiana, Texas, and Arizona.
