Florham Park, NJ – Andrew Raichle, P.E., M. SAME, Matrix New World Engineering, Inc., www.matrixneworld.com recently published an article about Superstorm Sandy relief efforts in The Military Engineer.

The article, Cleaning Up After Sandy, can be read here. The Military Engineer is a publication of the Society of American Military Engineers.

Mr. Raichle is a civil and marine engineer with nationwide expertise in a broad range of waterfront development and maritime projects. His experience includes planning and design of coastal and port structures, sub-aqueous utilities, navigational dredging, and shore protection projects. Well versed in the technical, political, and regulatory specialties that are unique to the process of waterfront development / redevelopment, he has applied these skills repeatedly throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean.

Most recently, Andy has been a key participant in the response and recovery effort for Superstorm Sandy in the metro New York/New Jersey region. In the days following the storm, Raichle led emergency response teams throughout the region. In the months since, he has led teams responsible for rebuilding the marinas, boardwalks, and other infrastructure along the Jersey Shore.

Matrix New World provides scientific and engineering expertise for a wide range of projects from infrastructure improvement, climate change resiliency, ecological restoration, and contamination studies in the United States and overseas.

With its world-class work in disaster response as seen in the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in the Gulf and many other environmental and man-made catastrophes; Matrix was an integral partner in the clean up and ecological restoration of the devastated Jersey shore land and waterways following Superstorm Sandy. NJBIZ recognized Matrix as the 2010 Business of the Year and Jayne Warne, PE, President, as one of 2011’s “Best Fifty Women in Business.”   This is in addition to a variety of design awards the company has acquired over the past two decades.
